Happy New Year!

What I won't do for my customers! I trudged up to the post office today to post the last of this year's orders - well, I say trudged, but slid is more like it. The rain/snow of the last few days has frozen over, leaving the remaining mounds of snow crusted over and the sidewalks sheets of ice. I would have been better off with skates.....

In the new year I will have my wholesale division (which is still just me!) running & will be adding dark brown cupcake baking cups & some cupcake picks to the shop! I just need to find an extra few hours in the day and it should all come together nicely.

Hope you all have a wonderful new year's eve!

I realized today (after a phone call regarding shipping times) that most people are going to assume I'm based in the U.S.

I'm pretty close (Vancouver), but those few extra kilometres over the border can add a lot of time to shipping - especially when customs is involved. And of course, during the holidays shipping times slow way way down.

I've tried to keep shipping costs down by mailing via letter post whenever possible. Unfortunately, this method doesn't provide tracking numbers. It's a pretty quick method though, usually 4-6 business days - even internationally.

I guess I'm going to have to add a whole page to my shop for shipping info - in the mean time, I sincerely hope everyone who has ordered them gets their wraps in time for their event!

Cake life goal #2!

Realized! Got a mention on Cupcakes Take the Cake, which I've been following for a few delightful years now.

Now if I could only manage a Martha mention....

Christmas picks :(

I'm sad to say that after all I won't be able to get the Christmas picks up in the shop in time for the holidays.

Sickness in the form of strep throat has us all down and out right now and the boy has some other icky health stuff happening, leaving me with no extra time right now.

I'll make it up after the holidays with some Hello Kitty & Tinkerbell picks! I swear!

Christmas picks - delay

I'm sorry to all those who have expressed interest in my Christmas cupcake picks - I meant to have them in the shop yesterday, but unfortunately I've been hit with a nasty nasty bug that I fear is strep throat (it's going around my kids' school).

I will do my utmost to have them in the shop by Thursday!

On the upside I just got an email from someone who's father was a wealthy cocoa merchant in West Africa before he was poisoned and he needs my help to get his millions out of a security box in a bank in Spain and I can have whatever percentage of the moolah I want as compensation..... wait, you don't think it's a scam do you? Really people, where's your Christmas spirit?

Back to back posting!

I just want to alert you all to my extraordinary web designer Amy ( She is the main reason for the success of my two sites (Cupcake Wrapture & Queene of Tartes) - easy to work with, fantastic ideas & suggestions, does the work quickly and charges reasonably.

If you need a website done go to Amy! Now!

'tis the season!

For going truly insane that is!

Thanks to the glowing tribute posted on Cakejournal, I am getting a bazillion hits on the site and a ton of wholesale inquiries!

The wholesale part is freaking me out - Cupcake Wrapture is just lil ole me, no employees, no factory, not even an office. I never ever expected such a fantastic response from everyone! (well, except for the one person who thinks my photos suck, but meh, I can't be great at everything!)

For those who are reading who are interested in wholesale - I'm getting set-up just as fast as I possibly can. I am thrilled, scared and girding my loins for the new year!

One of my cake life's goals realized

I've been mentioned on Cakejournal. Now I can truly say I've lived!

Louise has very kindly written a post all about my little venture, along with a truly scrumptious photo of ganache topped cupcakes in the pink floral swirl wraps.

Check it out here:

Thanks Cakejournal!
